1200 calories in the day? See our lunch suggestions to take to work

Most office workers today tend to eat out at restaurants or takeaway for lunch. Even the ones who regularly work out and go to the gym do that.

This naturally has a bad impact over any kind of diet and in many cases, going to the gym isn't enough to make up for that. On the other hand, we generally tend to think that bringing food from home to work is difficult and takes a lot of time. That doesn't have to be the case.

In fact, bringing your own food to work is easily the healthiest and most cost-effective solution available.

That's why we've put together this list of healthy lunch meals that you can prep at home and bring with you to work on any day of the week:

Option 1:

2 tbsp mashed yam

1 shallow plate of dark green leaves

Broccoli and sautéed peppers

1 medium fillet of grilled fish with cherry tomatoes

 

Option 2:

1 can of light tuna without water

2 medium potatoes cooked and chopped with champignon, 1/2 tomato and chopped broccoli

 

Option 3:

1 medium eggplant stuffed with soybeans

1 plate of dark green leaves, asparagus and tomato

2 tbsp canned corn

 

Option 4:

2 tablespoons of carrot puree

Eggplant and peppers sautéed as much as you feel like

1 large fillet of grilled turkey breast.

 

Option 5:

1 shallow plate of dark green leaves, chopped broccoli, tomato, and bean sprouts

2 tbsp mashed pumpkin

3 slices of roast beef
